Enabling Justice is an abolitionist project that aims to offer concrete support to prisoners, amplify their voices and experiences, and organize and educate within the community.
The project team dreams of a world where community and relationships are central to care, accountability, and justice. One where harsh punishment and carceral practices - including the criminal legal system as we know it - are obsolete.

This project was created by the Disability Justice Network of Ontario with initial funding from the Laidlaw Foundation.
This project is made up of multiple toolkits to help criminalized people living with disabilities navigate the criminal legal system - especially those who are also racialized.

This site includes accessibility features, including the use of more accessible fonts, high contract colours, and an accessible website map.
Our printable toolkits are also available in specific access-based formats.

We don't believe that the current criminal legal system affords or enhances "justice" - in particular to those who are marginalized by race, disability, or class - so we use the term "criminal legal system" or "CLS".
